Peer Support Services
Peer Support is a supportive relationship between people who have a lived experience with mental illness. It emphasizes the acquisition, development and enhancement of skills needed by an individual with a mental illness to move forward in their recovery.
Peer Supporters:
- Help peers discover and build on coping strategies that work for them
- Promote a broader sense of community by helping peers identify the people and systems who can support their recovery
- Help people overcome challenges and discover greater wellness
- Complement clinical approaches
Our Peer Support Intake Agreement provides more information and outlines what peers can expect from a Peer Supporter and what is expected of them.
If you are interested in being matched with a Peer Supporter, contact Jennifer Becker at (507) 315-0227.
