Guided Self-Learning Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Class

Every other Friday, 10:00-11:30am, Zoom

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a therapy modality with the goal of help you learn to manage your difficult emotions by letting yourself experience, recognize and accept them. DBT is a team-based approach offered by intensively trained therapists. Here at NAMI, our DBT Skills Group, facilitated by a trained DBT Skills Teacher, allows you to practice the skills of DBT in a safe, supportive environment. This is not therapy, but a chance to learn the foundational skills of DBT - mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness and emotion regulation - whether or not you are enrolled in a formal DBT program. Classes are chance to gain and practice skills to positively impact your mental health.

The group is led by Colleen, who is a DBT graduate, trained DBT Skills teacher and a Certified Peer Support Specialist.
