How To Help

Peer Support Specialist

Peer Support Specialists have made significant progress in their own mental illness recovery and use personal experiences to model wellness, self-advocacy, responsibility and hope for those who need it now. Volunteer Peer Support Specialists have the opportunity to help others identify strengths, abilities and skills in order to develop and achieve recovery and wellness goals. Peers Support Specialists also help connect others to local resources and provide education about mental health, wellness and the recovery journey.

Qualified volunteers must be in recovery from a mental health condition and willing to share their personal story.
