Skills Webinar: Intro to DBT
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a therapy modality with the goal of help you learn to manage your difficult emotions by letting yourself experience, recognize and accept them. DBT is a team-based approach offered by intensively trained therapists. Here at NAMI, we are re-starting a DBT Skills Group in June. This is not therapy, but a facilitated group that provides a safe place to practice DBT’s foundational skills: mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness and emotion regulation. Classes are chance to gain and practice skills to positively impact your recovery.
The group is led by Colleen, who is a DBT graduate, trained DBT Skills teacher and a Certified Peer Support Specialist. Join us for an introduction to DBT to learn more about the group that begins meeting regularly in June.
