Volunteer Peer Supporter Training
Volunteer Peer Supporter training is a 20-hour training designed to provide volunteers with the skills that they need to be able to support individuals in their mental health journey.
Volunteer Peer Supporters have made significant progress in their own mental illness recovery. They are trained to use personal experience to model wellness, hope, self-advocacy and responsibility.
As a Volunteer Peer Supporter, you will be able to help others:
Identify strengths, abilities, and assets in order to reach goals
Develop recovery and wellness goals
Connect to local resources
If you have any questions about the training, please reach out to Monica Yeadon via email at email@example.com.
This training will meet 5p-9p daily through the week of September 20-24, 2021. Sessions will not be recorded and cannot be made up.
**COMPLETION OF THE NAMI SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA VOLUNTEER PEER SUPPORTER TRAINING ONLY ALLOWS YOU TO PROVIDE PEER SUPPORT THROUGH NAMI SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA. THIS TRAINING DOES NOT PROVIDE YOU WITH ANY CERTIFICATION THROUGH THE STATE OF MINNESOTA.**
